Wipro to set up SEZ in Port city

VISAKHAPATNAM: At a time when bifurcation blues are giving sleepless nights to techies from the Seemandhra region, here's finally some good news. IT giant Wipro Technologies has zeroed in on the Port city for a special economic zone (SEZ) software development facility housing over 1,000 software professionals. Currently, Wipro's seven-acre campus, located on NH-16 opposite the Tech Mahindra facility at Satyam Junction, houses 300 people catering to the domestic market. According to sources, Wipro is planning to set up a new seven-storeyed building to house the SEZ facility and has already sought the approval of the AP Information Technology and Communications (IT&C) department as well as Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).
